Coaching Tips for Run for a Reason

Choosing to run a 5K is not a decision taken lightly. It is a big accomplishment to finish a 5K, especially in the cold winter. We encourage everyone to take precautions when preparing for a 5K race. We want everyone to do their very best. Checkout the few tips below for preparing for the race.

It is always a good idea to get at least 3 months of training in before any race. This gives you a month to get familiar with exercising at least 3 to 5 times a week. The next month will be dedicated to getting at least 1 to 2 miles of running consistantly without walking. The last month will be a few runs that are at the pace you want to run your race for about half a mile to a mile and at least 2 runs of no less than 3 miles.
